About Katie Ward, IBCLC
Katie (she/her) has been helping new parents nourish their babies since 2012, when she started a peer-to-peer lactation support group in Olean, NY. In 2018, Katie became an international board-certified lactation consultant, the culmination of years of study and practice.
Hundreds of local families have benefitted from Katie’s assistance in reaching their infant & young child feeding goals. She participates regularly in continuing education to keep current with fast-paced changes in lactation science, and is involved in nonprofit advocacy work supporting perinatal, infant, and family health.
Before having kids and beginning her career in lactation, she earned a Master’s degree in education and was employed as a journalist and high school teacher. She has nursed three children of her own. Katie’s underlying belief that EVERY family deserves competent, compassionate lactation support drives the work she does.
